About Grokbot Icon

Grokbot Icon (grokbot-icon.com) turns a photo of a person or a character into a Grok Bot icon: a round bot face with two black capsule eyes, no mouth and flat pastel colors, in the style of the Grok Bot mascot.

Who runs it

Grokbot Icon is run by ToolChan LLC. It is an independent tool made by fans of the style. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by xAI; Grok is a trademark of its owner.

How an icon is made

• Your browser shrinks the photo and strips its metadata, including any GPS location, before upload.
• Our server sends the photo, with a fixed set of style rules, to an AI image generation service (OpenAI or Microsoft Azure OpenAI), which draws the icon.
• The rules keep your hair color, hairstyle and one to three signature details, and draw everything else as the same minimal bot face, the style described on the home page.
• Every run is drawn fresh, so the same photo can give quite different results. If a generation fails, its credits go back to your balance.
• Neither the photo nor the icon is stored on our servers. Your latest icons are kept in your own browser, so you can download them again.

Payments

Icons are paid for with credits from one-time packs; there is no subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe, and charges usually appear on card statements as TOOLCHAN* GROKBOT-ICON.
